This weekend we headed up north and encountered a surprising snowstorm on the way. At Noah's grandma's house in northern Wisconsin, they got 5-6 inches the night before with another 2-3 inches after we arrived on Saturday afternoon.
Noah and his sister were signed up to run in a late afternoon 5K in Duluth, so Abe and I headed out there with them and watched the snow peacefully falling over Lake Superior as we waited for the race to finish.
The snow was still coming down the next morning when we sent the kids outside to play.
My oldest nieces and I took a walk in the woods where the snow came up to my knees in some places. Luckily the snow was light and fluffy so it wasn't too hard to walk through without snowshoes.
My nephew spent most of the morning outside, digging, sledding, and jumping off the deck into piles of snow. He basically packed all the fun you can have in one winter into one day!
Abe enjoyed being outside too, although I think his favorite part was riding on the Gator. No wonder he always wants to go see Gigi!
