I've been busy doing some spring cleaning (even though it feels like summer is already here), and decided it was time for some new dish towels. I always buy flour sack towels because they're soft and super absorbent, but they're kind of plain.
To make my kitchen a little prettier, I used these adorable fruit labels (available as a free download from Eat Drink Chic) to turn my plain towels into a cheerful set that almost makes doing the dishes fun...
I printed the labels on iron-on transfer paper for dark fabrics (see some tips for using dark transfer paper here), but regular transfer paper should work fine - just be sure to reverse the image before printing! Oh, and make sure the towels have been prewashed. Add one fruit label to each corner, and follow the directions that come with your paper to transfer the images to the towel.
You know who likes clean and pretty kitchens? Moms. Cute and easy Mother's Day gift, right? I'll be sharing some of my crafty Mother's Day gift ideas over the next few weeks, but you can find all of my Mother's Day posts anytime right here.
Oh, and in case you missed the previous link, you can download these lovely (and free!) fruit labels at Eat Drink Chic.
