12 Days of Christmas Ornaments - Day 5: Dried Orange Slices

My parents live in Arizona and have no less than nine citrus trees in their yard. They have a grapefruit, two lemons, a lime, and five different types of orange, along with a pomegranate, a couple peach trees, and I think an almond. Whenever we're down there, I wake up in the morning, walk out in the yard, and pick a grapefruit for breakfast. Can't do that in Minnesota!

This year we won't be going down for Christmas, but if we were I'd whip up a bunch of these ornaments! They're so easy...and pretty...and I'd love to experiment with all the different types of citrus fruit. Find instructions on how to make them here.

Anyone else out there decorating tiny rosemary bushes with fruit? (We really need to get a tree!) Do you have any "edible" decorations on your tree? I'd love to make a popcorn string but I know a certain little boy who would eat it right off the tree! Oh well... Find some kid-friendly ideas, and lots of other holiday projects and tree decorations right here.
